OrbitNote, formerly known as Read&Write's PDF Reader, is a powerful tool designed to help students engage with accessible PDF files. It offers a variety of features that allow students to demonstrate their understanding in diverse ways, such as drawing, typing, highlighting key information, and adding voice notes for teachers.
To support the writing process, OrbitNote includes features like speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and word prediction. For optimal functionality, open PDFs with OrbitNote. Click the button to "scan text" if one appears. Once it has been scanned, OrbitNote can interact with the text. (This feature is needed if you scan a hardcopy as a PDF on an FCPS copier.)
Everyway Suite of Tools
Everyway offers a suite of Chrome extensions that are available to all FCPS students and staff: OrbitNote (for PDFs), Read&Write Extension (for Google Docs, Slides, and webpages) and Equatio (to make math and science formulas accessible).
